We Moved…

You can now find us here!

Indigo Bleu Photography has been renamed to Kate Giovinco Photography. The new blog is up and the website is just about finished.

I look forward to seeing you again so please head on over.

There are so many changes going on right now. I am in the process of building a new website and blog in between photo shoots and traveling. I will be traveling now until next May. I have trips planned almost every week from now until the end of the year as well. I promise to keep the posts coming. I am traveling for Photography and I am so very lucky to be doing so.

Since this is a photography blog. I give you some pictures from the other night when I went to game 2 of the National League Championship where the Phillies played the Giants. I went with my brother and his two oldest kids. I had no idea our seats were as good as they were when I bought them. We had cheese steaks from Tony Luke’s for dinner. Abby had a hot dog for her Gran (my mom) because my mom gave up her ticket so Abby could go. My mom joked that she only wanted to go for a hot dog. So Abby ate one for her. She also had Nachos and Cotton Candy. I love that girl. We had a great time and the Phillies won!

In the new beach house, the kitchen is purple and red. The entire house minus some bedrooms and bathrooms is painted painted purple. It is bold, it is colorful, it is full of love. At first I wasn’t a fan of all the color but it really does grow on you.

The fabulous knobs in the kitchen. They are from Anthropologie! I knew it was meant to be seeing as that is my favorite store.

A certain relative in Kansas that shall remain nameless gave me some grief about not posting enough pictures of the new house. So far I am posting the kitchen. So here it is:

The kitchen makes me smile every time I think about it. I love that it fits us all. We can sit around all hours of the day and visit. I love that it truly is the center of the beach house. How could someone not smile in this kitchen.

My family started a project last week in memory of my brother Jeff that died last summer. It is called “Project Call Home” and we have a blog up. The mission of this organization is to donate knit hats and new socks to people in need that are struggling with addiction through Protection Point. Please feel free to donate knit hats, regular winter hats, scarves, and socks. We will be adding patterns to the blog for those that want to knit and are looking for a simple pattern. I will be setting up a P.O. Box to mail items to as well. There is a pay pal button on the side bar of the Project Call Home site if you would like to donate money towards supplies.

My mom knit this hat during Babylicious’ nap on Saturday. She has been knitting like crazy. Please leave a comment or email ProjectCallHome at Gmail dot com if you are interested in helping this great cause or even if you just want to leave a kind word. We would love to hear from you. You may also follow the blog by clicking on the Follow Me button in the side bar of the Project Call Home Site. We will be updating regularly.

Where have I been? Well my mom purchased a beach house on Friday and my family has been soaking up the sun, beach, house, and love this weekend.

I promise more photos and posts to come this week. I am off to bed. I am exhausted from all this fun!

Happiness is…

FamilyBeachHouseOctober2010-7

Happiness is the natural light that floods into the kitchen in the early mornings. Sitting around the island eating breakfast and having coffee with my family.

Chasing Sea Gulls!

Happiness is walking to the beach in October when no one is around and chasing sea gulls in your shorts.

Ocean Love

Happiness is swimming in the ocean in your jeans without a care in the world. Giggling as the waves crash into you. Happy to be one with the earth.

Cousins

Happiness is cousins and the bond that is irreplaceable. My cousins are some of my closest friends. We spent summers at the beach together growing up. We were surrounded by each other and loved every minute of it.

Butterflys

Happiness is the island covered in butterflies. Everywhere you look surrounded by beauty.

Happiness is my family. Without them this place wouldn’t mean nearly as much.

I added this to the 10.10.10 group on Flickr. I hope you took a picture today. If you did you should share it. Leave a comment and I will come and check it out.

October 10th, A most auspicious day

Indigo Bleu Photography is getting a huge overhaul. I decided a few weeks ago that I was going to change the name of the business. It will now be Kate Giovinco Photography. I am starting to focus more on weddings, however I will still be doing family portraits and would love to talk with you about what your photography needs are.

The name change from Indigo Bleu Photography to Kate Giovinco Photography wasn’t hard, because I was never in love with the Indigo Bleu Logo, it was nice, but it truly didn’t represent me.

However I think this new logo for Kate Giovinco Photography is very much me. I love it and every single time I look at it, it makes me smile. So I ask you internets to vote again. I plan on this being the last time I change my logo. I am pretty sure it will be, because I love it.

So Internets what font do you like better? What circular design do you lean towards?

New Name, New Logo, So Me!

I plan to make my final decision on Friday and have a huge overhaul on this blog, the website, and new literature by the end of next week.

Stay tuned for some exciting and fun changes going on here.

You can visit the website at www.kategiovinco.com and see the changes as they happen.

My friend Christina did a wonderful job of organizing a group to walk in Philadelphia this morning. We walked for her 13 year old cousin Justin. What a great kid. We woke up bright and early and headed to Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. They had tons of things to do before the walk and after. Lots of stands full of swag. There was a children’s area with a moon bounce, slides, face painting, music and so much more.

It was a great day surrounded by wonderful people. I decided to take my camera and I am so glad I did.

Molly’s stroller was full of all the goodies we collected along the way so she got carried throughout the day. Good thing there were lots of people willing to hold this cutie. She really enjoyed my phone. She only called two people and took lots of video and pictures of herself. She caught quite a few unsuspecting people’s conversation on video and the video being a close up of her face.

And part of the group in our group picture. Let’s just say the people trying to take our picture couldn’t figure out my camera with the 50 on it. Oh well. Here is part of us though.

And to top off this great day after the walk I got a text message from my best friend who had her baby this morning.

Brayden Michael arrived at 6:25 am. One week early. Weighing in at 7lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. I have a feeling there is no way I am going to be able to wait until January to meet him. I am sure I will be booking my flight to see him in the next month.

Devon & Tim

I am working on building my sites. I am going through old images as well as new ones. This is my oldest and best friend of all time. She is expecting her first baby next week. I can’t wait to meet him. So I decided to post a few pictures from their wedding that I found in my archives.

They are a beautiful couple inside and out. They are going to be wonderful parents. Brayden is a very lucky little guy.

I want to remember when she sees me she yells my name out with such excitement like she hasn’t seen me in months. I love it even more when she yells it when she just saw me in the other room.

AnaisDoraLove_6.JPG

I want to remember when I pull out my camera that she instantly lunges at me so she can see the image on the back. She moves so fast I usually dont even have a chance to take a picture.

AnaisDoraLove_4.JPG

I want to remember her sitting at her little blue table in the kitchen and her love of crayons. I want to remember that she looks right at you with the crayon near the wall. Just close enough that she is about to write on the wall. With that naughty grin on her face.

AnaisDoraLove_5.JPG

I want to remember her love for Dora and Back Pack.

AnaisDoraLove.JPG

I want to remember how she runs around the house yelling “Dorya Dorya Dorya” and “BACKPACKBACKPACKBACKPACK” over and over again.

AnaisDoraLove_2.JPG

I want to remember how she carries around a tiny plastic Dora. How she takes her to bed with her and sleeps with her gripped in her little hands.

AnaisDoraLove_3.JPG

I want to remember her Dora obsession. I want to remember it because it is such a short period of time.

AnaisDoraLove_1.JPG

I just don’t want to forget it.
